The aspiration fluid is produced usually by a vacuum generated by a pump.

Energy consumed by the pump and the efficiency of aspiration are related to:

• pressure losses in the ducts Suction

• pressure in the reservoir Suction (if not at atmospheric pressure)

• performance of this pump

• suction of heavy fluids such as liquids must take into account the height who's directly related to the hydrostatic load
