Yield and efficiency of pump or turbine

The useful power is applied to the fluid to meet the requirements of network throughput.

The ratio useful power/power consumption gives the pump or turbine yield.

  • if the power absorbed is measured on the pump shaft, the ratio useful power/power consumption gives pump yield without motor

  • if the power absorbed is measured in energy consumption of your engine pump, the ratio useful power/power consumption gives pump yield including engine performance.

Efficiency of the pump is given here in percentage.The maximum yield is 57% (pump + motor)

if you enter the performance of your turbine or pump the power or the power absorbed will be computed versus the flow rate and presuure drop or head loss. The cavitation wil be detected versus the NPSH and the saturated vapor pressure .
