The friction force on the surface is caused by the viscosity of the fluid. The flow regime and thikness of the layer is studied in the software mecaflux.This is recommended for large hull where viscous resistance is mainly composed of frictional resistance .The frictional resistance force can be calculated with the detailed study of flat plate in Mecaflux ( drag force and lift force).
