Drag force on Vehicles

 

The planes, cars , or boats , are all subject to effects friction and turbulence of the environment in which they operate.

the vehicles as cars or trucks ,are constantly in contact with the surrounding fluid. This contact generates a Drag force based on the speed and the shape of vehicle, and the displaced fluid.

This drag force , Resistance Aerodynamics or hydrodynamic resistance is directly related to the power consumed by the vehicle for this move.

To calculate the power consumed by the resistance of a vehicle used formulas whose parameters are:

the frontal surface

the Cx or aerodynamic coefficient of drag of the vehicle

the fluid velocity

the viscosity fluid

the density fluid
